A nice composition once again and the perspective is also almost spot on. I bit unstable at the bottom. The tones are nice and the colors play well against each other, so no problem there, nice going. After looking at other painting you have made, it seems you have a "hard time" with getting the left part of a painting come together. It´s once again a bit too much, this time bubbles or lamps. It would make an "upward" motion for the eye if you took away some at the top. Other than that, it´s a really nice painting and I love the skyward perspective. Good job! =D

It´s really good with the composition and the tones. The only thing that bothers my eyes are the big construction thing hanging from the left. It´s a bit big and takes up to much space and it like "tickles" my eye with it being out of focus. I think if you maybe took away the top part, being the part closest to the top of the screen, it would maybe get even better. Just trying to give constructive critic here. ;)

Love your art style FrostDrive. Nice colors and very nice body of the girl. With that I mean that the proportions are right. Nice going =)

Thanks man.
I need to respond to the rest of your reviews. lol

Yeah, I know how hard the 3/4 angel is. The only thing that catches my eye in this pictures as off, is that the face seems a little "bulged" like stung by a bee. Otherwise a very good study. You got the light and the shadows down and the face looks real. Good going there pal. =)

Nice one! The things I noticed a bit were that the collarbones are a bit too wiggly, and that the hair is a bit too rough. Otherwise great work for a speedpainting =)

It´s a beautiful piece. It has some wonderful colors and the clouds remind me of old grandiose paintings. The only part which could be looked at a little closer is that the trees are a bit too static. They feel to "straight". And the second thing, and last, is that the Axolotls sprouts or what those hair like things are, should be more "decolorised" because the color "looses" its color the deeper you go under water. Just search for "color disappears under water" on a well know searchengine and you will find out about it. The first color to go is red, so I just wanted to help out a little bit. Otherwise great piece and I hope your friend was happy, I would =)

I´m just stunned by some of the details here. I´m an aspiring artist myself and I always look for talented people to talk to and to share points of interest. I just wanted to know how you think when you do chrome? I mean the helmet of the knight is just wonderful. Do you have a special trick or how did you study to get the "illusion" of chrome? The second thing I wanted to know is if you used only a brighter color of red on the platelet on the left, in the middle, or did you use some orange? I do have a good eye for color, without braging to much, but I can´t seem to be able to make that out.

The reason I ask a lot and don´t comment the piece much, is because there is nothing I can comment on. The lightning is nice. The details are good. The characters seems well drawn for being fantasy figures, so I tried for 10+ minutes to find something to make into constructive critic, but couldn´t do so.

Hope that you have the time to explain. =)

PS. If my text seems all weird and buggy it´s because I use a Swedish keyboard and it seems to happen on Newgrounds only, so if that´s the case I´m sorry. =(

I am working with photoshop and my workflow consists of a lot of layerstyles and brushoptions. The firt thing you have to think about is where you set the most highlight ( this comes from the light right above.) The other reflections came frome the red colour around the area. I use some custome-brushes to do a bit structure on the helmet. After siting the groundcolours i use a soft roundbrush in colour-dodge brush-adjustment and take the opacity down on 30 procent. I take the orange middle-light and then i am trying to use the brush on the helmet as long as i got the effect i like. ( You have to do it restrained to not overload the effect)

The red colourpalette in the background is a red-orange-purple colourmix. The last step i do in a painting is to create a new layer with a dark colour(in this case the dark purple you see here in the shadows) in brighten up-layer-effect. After merging all the layers i go into adjusmtens->levels and play around with all the colour-adjustments to find a great mood.

:)
